Welcome! You are ready to create or open a database and start using EndNote. These are your options on the opening window:
Learn about EndNote:
Select the "Learn about EndNote" button. The EndNote help file will display a list of new features, where you can click on underlined terms or phrases to get more information about a topic. Click the home icon to see a list of help file contents. You are welcome to browse the information. Click the close button to close the help file and return to the Getting Started window.
Create a new EndNote library:
Select the "Create a new library" button. Use the file dialog to name and save the library to the folder of your choice.
Open an existing EndNote library:
Select the "Open an existing EndNote library" button. Then, use the file dialog to locate and open the library.
If you are new to EndNote, we recommend that you open the Sample_Library_X9 .enl file to test drive the program. The sample library is typically located in the EndNote X9:Examples folder.
Note: Press the Help key on any window or dialog in the program, and EndNote will display a context-sensitive help topic to guide you!
This dialog is always available to you from the EndNote Help menu. Select "Show Getting Started dialog".
